Are you tired of trying to justify hunting?

Why is it that people shun at the thought of harvesting an elk or deer but look forward to their weekly favorite television programs with displays of extreme violence and blood shed?  It seems as time goes on, the general public, not to be biased or sexist, but especially our young adults in this case, are brain washed with propaganda about cruelty to animals Yet, many of those same people that say they are against hunting or killing animals are proud to display their sexy new leather boots or leather outfits.

Its unfortunate, but the truth is that the uneducated people (in reference to this subject) in this world will sign their name to legislation or vote for a bill to stop cruelty to animals. But what they don’t know is that there are extremely smart “anti-hunting” groups that know how to prey on the uneducated emotions of people. Their intent is to stop hunting in this country, but to do that they focus on cruelty to animals to include pets and hunting alike. With ads displaying animals caught in traps, or wounded animal in the wild etc, people will side with the anti-hunting organization and vote in support of their propositions.

What the mass majority don’t know is that it’s the sportsmen that spend millions of dollars to help protect and enhance the wildlife habitat in this country. Many of those individuals spend lots of time and money to foster growth of their favorite animal species.  It’s also through organizations like the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation that raise money to protect and better wildlife habitat. But what this blog is about is that it’s up to us (you and I) that need to educate our younger generations about the importance of a balanced wildlife environment through managing populations of animals and improving wildlife habitat.

The bottom line is “get involved”. By donating time, money or just trying to help educate our young, we will help protect our rights to enjoy hunting with our children and grandchildren.
